A fun, safe place for kids to learn and play!

About Me

I am a graduate of McCollum High School here in San Antonio.  I have earned some college hours in general education at Palo Alto College.  I have been married since 1995 and have three children.  I am a Christian and have strong values and morals.  I have always had a real love for children.  I have worked with children for many years.  I believe that for children, learning comes through play.  If the child has a genuine interest and a desire to know, they will learn.  The creativity comes in sparking that interest and feeding that desire to know.  I treat every child as if he or she is my own; loving and nurturing them while helping them grow and develop the skills needed physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually.

I am registered with the Texas Department of Family and Protective  Services to provide daycare in my home.  (You can check licensing requirements by calling the licensing office or by visiting their website at www.txchildcaresearch.org.)  I continuously update my education through clock hours received at trainings on a wide variety of subjects related to early childhood education, development, nutrition, health & safety, and business.

Ode to Day Care

Little children come to me for hugs and books and such
I care for all their simple needs and I also fix them lunch.
I pick up toys, I mop their spills and often dry their tears.
I change their diapers, settle fights, and kiss away their tears
I tie their shoes, I button coats and push them on the swing.
I really love these kids you see but there is just one more thing
Call me Mom or Aunt or Florence, and those names just might fit.
But please don't call me SITTER because I never get to SIT!

My Philosophy

My  philosophy is simple.  The best learning comes through play.  I offer a variety of daily activities to peak curiosity and spark the imagination.  Children are encouraged to try things.  Exploration is expected.  Every child learns differently.  Therefore, the sky's the limit on what we do, and the possiblities are endless!  Social skills and self-help skills are practiced in addition to learning the other things needed for "big school" (ABC's, 1,2,3's, etc.)

When your child is engaged and stimulated, he or she will learn.
